Biography

John Page married Susanna Leland 1712.[1][2] John and Susanna had three children: Experience Buck, Jonathan and John their eldest son.

Probate

John Page of Sutton, physician, died in 1731, intestate when his probate case was first heard in Worcester County Court.[3] His inventory was taken on 28 July 1731 in Sutton.[4]

In 1733, William Stockwell of Sutton was appointed guardian of his sons, John, aged about 13 years, and Jonathan, aged about 10 years. His daughter Experience, aged about 20 years, named John Stockwell as her guardian.[5]

In 1734, his estate was ordered to be divided, 1/3 to the widow and 2/3 to the children (no names mentioned).[6]

In 1741, Jonathan Page of Lunenburg was granted the administration of his estate.[7]

In 1741, his estate could not be divided without spoiling the whole and it was settled upon his son John Page (excepting the dower of Susanna Page), who would pay the other heirs their share, viz., Experience Buck, and Jonathan Page.[8] His son John was asked to appraise the real estate and set out the dower to the widow.[9]

In 1745, an account of his estate by Jonathan Page was recorded which included the sale of the estate, appraisers, debts paid, and administration fees. The balance went to the heirs.[10]

Then when his son John became 21 the younger John sued to inherit the eldest son's share of the estate.[11]
