Biography
John was born in 1825. He is the son of John Thurmond and Anna Sturgis. He passed away in 1867.
Reverend Thurmond was a Baptist circuit preacher who founded numerous Baptist churches in south Texas, including the First Baptist Church of Abilene,Texas.
