Margaret Clifford was born in 1747, the daughter of William and Sarah (Towle) Clifford. She was born in Kingston, New Hampshire and raised and lived her life in Salisbury, New Hampshire.
On February 23, 1770, Margaret would marry Benjamin Scribner, the son of Edward and Rachel (Webster) Scribner. Margaret and Benjamin would have four children as follows:
Rachel (Scribner) Fellows (1771-after 1820)
Benjamin Scribner (1772-1853)
Sarah Scribner (1774- )
Margaret (Scribner) Davis (1776- )
One month after giving birth to her namesake, Margaret passed away on October 20, 1776, at 29 years of age, leaving her husband with four small children.
