It is said that George Frederick was a sergeant in the Army in WWI. A black and white framed photograph of him in army uniform in the family home. It is said:- One afternoon during WWII, he was sitting at home in a wooden armchair looking out of the window at the rear of the house, overlooking the back yard. A bomb landed nearby and he was blown across the room, through the open doorway, across the hall, into the front room and ended up still sitting in the chair, looking out of the front room window! They say he was never the same again after that, and it caused his early demise.
