Biography

Hannah Packard was born about 1797, the daughter of Joshua and Martha (Hartwell) Packard of Goshen, Massachusetts.^[1]

She married Versal Bannister in Goshen, Massachusetts, on February 19, 1793.^[2] They had 5 children:

• Sophia, 1796-1873
• Fordyce, 1800-1883
• Minerva, b. 1801
• Hannah, b. abt. 1804
• Clara, b. abt. 1808

Versal and Hannah moved from Windsor, Massachusetts, where their children were born, to Genesee County, New York in 1816, along with their son and three [four?] daughters. They had two yoke of oxen, one horse, and one wagon. Versal built a log cabin for the family, 20x36, with no doors or windows.^[3]

At the time of the 1850 census, she and her husband, a farmer, lived in Le Roy, New York, with their son Fordyce and his family.^[4]

Hannah died in 1851.^[5]
