When Joseph Gillett was born on November 2, 1664, in Simsbury, Connecticut, his father, Joseph, was 23 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 17. [1][2][3] He married Esther Gull and they had one daughter together. [4] Esther died in November of 1687. He then married Mary Griswold [5][6] and they had at least 12 children together. [7] He died on July 9, 1745, in Hartford, Connecticut, having lived a long life of 80 years, and was buried in West Hartford, Connecticut. [8][9][10][11]
