1868 Oct 11: Birth of Joshua Roberts, son of Hatevil and Lydia Roberts from John Scales, History of Dover, New Hampshire, Volume I (Manchester, NH: Authority of the City Council, John B. Clarke Co., 1923), p 306/7.
There was no marriage between Joshua Roberts and Honor Stackpole. NEED SOURCE for the following information: James Stackpole sued Joshua, son of Hatevil Roberts, in New Hampshire court. Said Roberts often came to his house and kept company with his daughter Honor, who is now with child by him. Joshua denied the fact and refused to marry her. Joshua Roberts, son of Honor and Joshua Roberts, was brought up in the household of his grandfather James Stackpole.
