John, or Sir John (as he is styled by Mr. George Erskine), was son and heir of Sir John, and probably succeeded to the estates, though no record of the fact has been found. He had issue:? 1. William, who succeeded. 2. John, to whom the High Steward granted lands in Largs, to be held for the tenth part of a knight's fee, the grantee to have 'six brewhouses, if he think fit.'(6) 3. Helen,(7) said to be married to Sir Thomas Bruce, brother of King Robert Bruce, who was executed at Carlisle by order of King Edward I.
