Charles Faucheraud was a Huguenot.
Biography
Charles was born in 1645 in Soubise, Saintonge, France. He married Anne Vignaud.
He was superintendent of the royal ironworks and an anchorsmith.
A Huguenot, he and his family left France and were in London by 20 September 1681. At that time he was age 36 and had a wife and three children. He made his denization in England on 8 March 1682.
Charles was apparently in Carolina by 1683.
He died before 14 December 1691, when Ann Vignaud was described as a widow.
They had three children:
- Anne (b. France, m. Abraham Dupont)
- Gideon (b. France)
- Marie (b. England)
