TEXT Thomas Armstrong--Born July 20, 1775, York County, PA; died April 23, 1849, Lincoln County, TN. His wife was probably named Mollie(Pension Paper). Thomas Armstrong enlisted in April 1777, while a resident of Guilford County, NC, and served three months as Private in Captain's John Davis' and George Pearce's companies in Colonel McDowell's NC regiment. While a resident of York County, PA., he enlisted and served two months as Private under Captain Arbison or Aberson and Major Aidy of the Penn. Troops. Having moved to Guilford County, NC, he enlisted and served about two weeks. He also served as a volunteer against the Tories in NC on various short tours, amounting to one month in all. The children of Thomas Armstrong: 1. John, born Aug. 15, 1784 in Pendleton District, SC, died Lincoln County, TN, Sept. 3, 1847. 2. David, b 1787 3. Mary(Polly), M Dollins 4. William, b 1790 in SC Descendants: Margaret E.M.Clemens(ML) 443120. Elizabeth C.Holt(John P0469005
