Martha was born about 1788 at Brownheath[1], Shropshire, England and was baptised on the 2nd November 1788 at the Independent Chapel at Ellesmere, Shropshire, England, the daughter of William Kynaston and Hannah Kynaston[2] of Brownheath[3]
Banns of marriage were announced on the 17th 24th and 31st May 1807 for Martha Kynaston, spinster and John Maddocks, bachelor, at Ellesmere, Shropshire, England.[4]
On the 5th June 1807, Martha Kynaston, spinster and John Maddocks, bachelor, married at Ellesmere, Shropshire, England.[5] Witnessed by Charles Austin and Hannah Austin (nee Kynaston)[6]
In 1851, Martha was looking after the illegitimate children of her daughter Sarah, at Cotton, Shropshire, England, whilst her daughter Sarah was working as a servant (probably at Edstaston Hall).
By 1861, Martha had moved to Chipnall, a township in the parish of Cheswardine, Shropshire, and was living with her married daughter Elizabeth Bayley nee Maddox.
Martha died aged 79 [sic] years on the 20th December 1862 at Lipley, Cheswardine, Shropshire, England. Her daughter Elizabeth Bailey [sic] of Lipley, Cheswardine was the informant.[7]

Removed Robert Maddox as child as he was born and baptised before Martha Kynaston was born
Brownheath is a village close to Loppington where Martha's first child was baptised. Brownheath did not have it's own parish church, so the closest church to where Martha was supposedly born (from the 1851 census) would have been Loppington. However, Martha may have been born at Ellesmere and moved to Brownheath as a small child (Brownheath is only 6 miles from Ellesmere). A Martha was baptised on the 13th March 1790 at Ss. Michael and All Angels, Loppington, Shropshire, England, the daughter of Richard Kynaston and Margaret Kynaston of Brownheath[16], however this Martha did not have a sister Hannah.
The Martha, daughter of William & Hannah (bapt. 1788 at Ellesmere) did have a sister Hannah (bapt. 1784 at Loppington), and the family did move between Ellesmere and Loppington.
There are over 100 trees on ancestry.co.uk that have incorrectly attributed Martha Maddox nee Kynaston and her husband John Maddox as the parents of Sarah Maddox who married James Louden on February 19, 1843, in Auckland, New Zealand and had five children during their marriage and who died as a young mother on June 25, 1854, in Auckland, New Zealand, at the age of 31, and was buried in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. John and Martha's daughter Sarah stayed in Shropshire and married her long term partner Edward Leek in 1864 at Wem, Shropshire, remained in Shropshire and died in 1891 at Edstaston, Shropshire, England
