I seriously doubt these parents are the parents to Daniel Vaughan, father in law to William Torrey as according to The Torrey families and their children in America, this is a family from Lebanon Connecticut. I believe these are attached to another branch descending from Capt. Torrey's younger brother. I'll see if the text gives us better guidelines for this William marrying a Vaughn (not Vaughan). Isn't genealogy wonderful!!! lol
