Biography

Robert de Atholia is a member of Clan Donnachaidh.

Robert was the son of Duncan de Atholia.[1][2][3][4]

Arrested the murderers of King James I of Scotland, for which service he received a Crown Charter dated 1451, erecting all of his lands into a free barony.

His is the primary family of clan Donnachaidh

a very celebrated chief, progenitor of the barons of Strowan, chiefs of the Clan[5]

Duncan married Margaret Stewart,[3] daughter of Sir John Stewart of Bute, a natural son of King Robert II.[1] They had issue:[3][6]
