David Harris was born February 4, 1743, the son of Captain Samuel Harris and Abigail Larcomb in Beverly, Essex, Massachusettts[1]
On 14 August 1763, he married Elizabeth Corning, the daughter of David Harris and Priscilla Thistle of Beverly, Essex, Massachusetts[2][3], and emigrated to Yarmouth before 1767[4]
In 1763, he emigrated to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia along with his family[5][4][3]
Their children included
Samuel, born November 17,1764[6]; who married Elizabeth Welch on May 25, 1790; and then married Rebecca Crosby, daughter of Edward[3]
David, born May 25, 1766[7]; who married Catherine Miller and died Feb 13, 1856[3]
Andrew, born August 8, 1769 in Yarmouth, who died at sea, unmarried[3]
Asabel, born February 9, 1771, who died at sea, unmarried[3]
Ezra, born November 29, 1772, who married Lucy Bent daughter of Joseph; and died April 8, 1864
Jonathan, born November 4, 1774, who married Martha Harris, daughter of William Harris, and who died May 29, 1860
Elizabeth, who married Captain Thomas M. Goudey son of Philip Goudey
The death of David Harris is not known.

Patricia Sears Note: From Yarmouth Genealogies, compiled in 1897 by George S. Brown: "Samuel Harris removed with his family from Beverly to Yarmouth in 1762 and settled on the western side of the harbour opposite the present site of the Duck and Yarn Mills. In 1767 when the township lands were granted, he and his son David were allotted three shares, 2526 acres."
