Biography
“Rev. Enoch Burdick was the son of James and Phoebe (Smith) Burdick. He was the husband of Lucy Burdick. He was a Local Preacher in Canada serving Ancaster and Long Point, Upper Canada District 1811-1812. He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (now Western New York) Conference Discontinued about 1813 Records incomplete.” Posted on Ancestry in 2019. Sorry no source.

Research Notes
A number of sources, including Find A Grave, have confused this Rev. Enoch Burdick with his son Enoch G.L. Burdick. The difference is clear if you examine the original will of this Enoch in the Ancestry source. His son’s G. L. Probably stands for George Lish, a very beloved minister in the Oxford County of Enoch’s time. Many children were named after him. As Enoch and George Lish were both ministers in the area they were probably friends. The son, Enoch G. L. Burdick, was not a minister and grew up in Pennsylvania. Resources for him, other than his father’s will, are hard to find. .
