Margaret Morgan was born in 1742[1], the daughter of Samuel Morgan and Hannah Charder (Carter?) of Manchester, Essex, Massachusetts
On August 14, 1760, she married James Kelley, the son of James and Sarah Kelley of Manchester, Essex, Massachusetts[2]
Captain James Kelley emigrated with his family to Yarmouth Nova Scotia in 1765, and his original land grant is now called Kelley's Cove.[3]. It appears that Margaret and the children followed him circa 1767, as his daughter Margaret was born in Massachusetts in 1766, and Sarah in Yarmouth in 1768. This was not unusual, Joshua Trefry and other early settlers brought their families after the homesteads were established.
