Biography

Jean Hamilton was daughter of Hans Hamilton and Janet Margaret Denhaml.

William, of Glanderstoun, ancestor of the Mures of Glanderstoun; he m. Elizabeth, dau. of Gavin Hamilton, of Raploch, and had (with a dau., Janet, wife of John PoUoch, of that ilk) a son and heir, William, of Glanderstoun, who m. Jean, dau. of the Rev. Hans Hamilton, and sister of James, Earl of Clanbrassil, by whom he left, at his decease, 1640 (with a dau., Janet, wife of the Rev. John Carstairs, and mother of William Carstairs, the patriot), a son, William, of Glanderstoun, who m. Euphemia Mure, of Caldwell, and had a son, William, of Glanderstoun and Caldwell.^[1]
