Biography
David was the son of Joseph David Vann and Permelia Rowe. He had 2 sisters: Permelia Barfield Vann b. 11 Oct 1802 in Buncombe Co., NC, who married Micajah Sansom, and Martha, who married John Garner. [citation needed] No records have been located to indicate the parents of David.
He married Sarah (maiden name unknown). They had the following children:
- Sanders Washington b. 1820
- William Kinney "Clem" b. 1822 (both buried at this cem.)
- John David b. 1824
- Samuel "Sampson
- Thomas b. 1827
- Augustus M. b. 1829
- Mary Sue b. 1830
- Andrew Jackson b. 1833
- Martha Adeline b. 1837
- Benjamin Vann b. 1841
- Missouri Vann b. 1843.
David died without leaving a will. Augustus M. Vann acknowledged this to the court on 7 Jan 1867 in Floyd, Georgia, gave bond to administer David's estate, and was appointed as executor by the court on this date.[1]
