Biography

Jonathan was born about 1687 (probably in Falmouth [Why?]), based on his age of 7 when he was baptized in Salem, Massachusetts 27 Jan 1694/5.[1]

They settled Christ Church Parish and founded the Wappetaw Congregational Church near Awendaw, South Carollina. His estate in the will was valued at 3,337 pounds.

He died in Christ Church Parish, South Carolina between 26 July 1736 (when he wrote his will) and 24 Jan 1736/7 (when it was probated).[2]

Whilden-15 and Whilden-4 appear to represent the same person because: Same/similar vitals. Two children also need merging

There are two Jonathan Whelden children associated with this profile page. THIS one seems to be the better researched one. Should they be merged? ALSO... this tree leads to a Gabriel Whelden with no research behind the profile page. Please attach this tree to Whelden-3 which is the correct Gabriel Whelden. THANK YOU!! I am Teresa Fortenberry, a descendant. The Puritan Great Migration Project has a much better Gabriel Whelden page. My email is [email address removed]
