Biography
She may have married Philip in NC or in PA. There are no records for Boheliers either place. In the second quarter of the nineteenth century similar names begin showing up in Rutherford County, NC -- Beheler, Beheeler and Boheler. All of these names seem to be a cross between the written and phonetic version of the German name Bühler. Most often this name was Anglicized as Peeler. In German the "b" is pronounced "p". Antonius Bühler and his family immigrated to PA and attended Muddy Creek Lutheran Church with the Whisnants. Two of his sons eventually moved to the Lincoln and Rutherford County area of NC and were the ancestors of the many Peelers (and perhaps Behelers, Beheelers and Bohelers) in the area. Could Mary be an undocumented daughter?
