Carman-687 and Carman-377 appear to represent the same person because: The Carman-687 could not have been the son of Joseph Carman and Susan Tredwell (born 1771) as they were married about 100 years after Susan's birth. Joseph and Susan Carman also only had four daughters according to the Tre(a)dwell genealogy.

Carman-687 and Carman-377 are not ready to be merged because: Different fathers are attributed in each profile. One profile has NO sources so it is difficult to resolve the issue.

Carman-687 and Carman-377 do not represent the same person because: This is not the same person - different fathers. The 2 Adam’s may be cousins of some degree as the Carmen families of early New York were large and descendants of John Carman.

Does Joseph Carman (Carman-605) have any primary sources? Benjamin Carman as father was created first (Carman-371) was created first and I do not see why he was replaced by the unsubstantiated ebay Bible record. How do we know that even existed or if it was genuine? I am not saying this is resolved, but the Benjamin Carman parentage for Adams Carman was found by my father in his research several decades ago and he did not find any contradictory evidence. I will try to locate his evidence. In the meantime, personally I will consider this parentage to be uncertain due to insufficient evidence. Thank you for your quick review of the proposed merge. I hope someone on wikitree can resolve this.
