Bartolomea Orsini was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.

Biography

Bartolomea Orsini was the daughter of Niccolo II Orsini, 6th Conte di Pitigliano e Nola, and his first wife, Elena Conti.

She married in 1484 (while probably still in her early teens^[1]), Federico Sforza, 8th Conte di Santa Fiora, son of Guido Sforza, 7th Conte di Santa Fiora, and his wife, Francesca Farnese.

They had six children:

1. Bosio II Sforza, succeeded his father as 9th Conte di Santa Fiora;
2. Ippolita Sforza, married (1) 1504, Federica Farnese, Signore di Canino e Gradoli; (2) Alessandro Gonzaga, of the family of Lords of Vescovato; she died at Canino in 1543;
3. Alfonso Sforza, born 1493, appointed Archbishop of Benevento 8 April 1521 and died before 1528;
4. Daughter (hame unknown), married Girolamo Marchese del Monte Santa Maria;
5. Ascanio Sforza, Knight of the Order of Malta 1548, Commendatore of San Giovanni di Viterbo and San Massimo di Bagnoriea, Prior of Hungary, died 1553;
6. Elena Sforza, married don Antonio Maria Piccolomini, 1st Duca de Montemarciano and Signore di Camporsevoli.

Federico, died about 1535, but when Bartolomea died is unknown.
