Biography

The ancient Irish genealogy of the Osraighe (the chiefs of Ossory) usually begins with Óengusa Ossríthe; sometimes found as Áenghus Osruighe or as Áonghus Osruighe mac Criomthaind from which the name for the territory of Osraighe is said to derive. His name, Óengusa, with the addition of "Ossríthe" indicates a territorial name which may have existed in his time. ^{[1] [2]}

Kingdom of Osraige, or Osrithe, has become known as the Kingdom of Ossory. ^[3]

He was the father of Láoghaire Birnghuadhach mac Àongusa.^[4]
