- Caleb David Purdy was born January 25, 1711, the son of Samuel Purdy (1 May 1685- 4 Mar 1753) and Clorinda Charlotte Penelope Strang (born13 Jun 1687 - 6 Dec 1726 of Westchester County, NY[1]
- On December 11, 1739, he married Hannah Brown(20 Mar 1718/19 -11 Jun 1805), the daughter of Samuel Brown, and Hannah Rundel, and they had children, including:
- Clorinda C. Purdy, b. 7 Oct 1740, Rye, Westchester Co., d. 1785, Weymouth, Digby, NS
- Caleb Purdy, b. 1 Jan 1740/41, Rye, Westchester Co., NY, d. 14 Oct 1783
