Almost immediately after her death, he married Ede Elizabeth Maxedon the 22nd of April 1846
Daniel and Ede had Leonidas Milo, followed by a set of triplets, 2 boys and a girl. None of the babies survived (16 July 1848). They then had Rachel Elizabeth. More babies were born and died before Jerusha. Alexandra "Aley' Cathey was born extremely premature and lived until she was 8. Dixon Franklin, known as Frank was their last child.
Daniel died 19 April 1861 in McNairy, and is buried in a family plot in McNairy County.
Beginning with Daniel's marriage to Ede, this is first and second hand information from Susan's great grandmother and grandmother. They began a family tree in the 1930s and this information was all a part of the original tree and told to me in stories many times.
I only discovered the existence of an earlier family when I started to add to the tree in the 1970s. The six oldest children could have easily have started their lives as adults in North Carolina, since they never seemed to have moved to Tennessee.
That leaves Robert, Matthew Beale, and Antoinette (Richard had died when he was 3) - all born in North Carolina, but lived much of their lives in Tennessee.
