Name
Meronia B. V. Matney A.K.A. Ronia, and Jenny
- As a girl, her family called her "Ronia". Marie Crouch Bixler said that, her mother Mattie had always intended to give her (Marie) the middle name Berthenia, but never wrote it on any documents. Since Mattie named her first few children after her ancestors, it is assumed that the "B" in this woman's name stood for Berthenia. Similarly, after their marriage to Charles Massey, this woman went by the name Jenny Massey, so it assumed " Jennie" was a shortened form of Virginia. [1]
