Biography
John Bracknell was born in Kingsclere, Hampshire, England on April 21st, 1745, the first born son of John and Anne Bracknell, both of Hampshire, England. He was baptised on May 3rd, 1745 in Kingsclere, two miles north-east of Watership Down.[1]
Marriage
John Bracknell was a Builder and, his bride, Sally Anne Browne was a Seamstress, they were married at sea on 24 Jun, 1766, by the ship's Captain, John Wilson. The witnesses were James Lewis, Gunmaker and John Cuttchen, member of the crew. The ship was traveling from Tilbury in Essex, England to Dublin, Ireland and finally to Annapolis, Maryland.[2]

Last Will and Testament
1821
In the Name of God amen - I, John Bracknell of Edgefield District of South Carolina being afflicted in body but of sound disposing mind and memory Calling to mind my mortality do here make my last will and testament. Imprimis. I bequeath my soul to God in the humble hopes of his mercy through Jesus Christ and my body to the earth, as touching my worldly estate which it has pleased God to bless me with. I give and bequeath in the following manner at the discretion of my executors...[3]
