He was born about 1570 probably in Haiterbach, Duchy of Württemberg, Holy Roman Empire.[1]

Marriages

Michael married Margaretha Mayer on 14 January 1596 in Haiterbach.[2]

His second marriage was to Anna Helber on 8 July 1628 in Haiterbach.[3]

  2. Concerning the following, F. Klenk in a note says that it is, "difficult to read the entry at the end of the page from 1595, but it already belongs to 1596." "Michel Gutekhunst, Michell Gukhunst's surviving ... [son?] of Haiterbach and Margaretha, Matthes Mayer's legitimate daughter (all from here) is announced for the third time on the first Sunday after Epiphany: ... they married the Tuesday after ... the day of Epiphany: ... " OSB Haiterbach, p. 1004. The third announcement refers to the three banns, "before a marriage is contracted, the proper parish priest of the contracting parties shall three times announce publicly in the Church, during the solemnization of mass, on three continuous festival days, between whom marriage is to be celebrated; after which publication of banns, if there be no lawful impediment opposed, the marriage shall be proceeded with in the face of the church."   3. "ANNO 1628 ... the 8ᵀᴴ of July. Michel Guttekunst widower and citizen here and with him there Martin Kraussen's surviving widow Anna, all citizens here." OSB Haiterbach, p. 1005.
