William Massey was born in Moneyslane in the Parish of Drumgooland, Country Down, Northern Ireland to Thomas Massey and Mary J. He was baptised at the Ballyward Parish Church on 16 Nov 1845.[1]
William settled in Cambridge, and remained close to his brother Samuel's family. Samuel Massey's children are identified as the cousins of William's children in a wedding announcement.
"Miss Mable Massey, a young cousin of the bride, preceded the bride as flower girl, while Miss Anna Massey, sister of the bride, gowned in pink silk muslin and carrying pink roses, acted as bridesmaid. Walter Mulhall, of Waltham, was best man, and the ushers Included William Massey, brother of the bride, William and Harry Massey, cousins of the bride, and Henry Malette, of Natick."[2]
