Amos was born on 15 February 1775 in New York, USA. He was the son of Amos Stark and his wife, Susanna Gott.[1][2]
Amos was a Republican and worked as a shoemaker and clergyman in the town of Canaan, Columbia County, New York. He married Ruth Ford sometime before 1795 (birth of eldest child). Together, they had seven children, all born in Red Rock:[1]

He died on 16 December 1867 in Chatham, Columbia County, New York[1] and was buried in the Chatham Rural Cemetery.[3]
Research Notes
The Stark genealogy gives a DOB of 15 Feb 1775, while the Hamlin genealogy states that it was 14 Feb 1774. These dates are close enough to have been a typographical error somewhere along the way, but should be reconciled with other sources.
