Biography

1850 - living in Andover, Ashtabula Co., Ohio with first husband Jeremy Strickland, their daughter Ann and son Watson.^[1]

1860 - living in Granger, Allegany Co., New York with second husband Samuel Benson (both their second marriage); 3 children apparently from his first marriage, Irving age 10, Kate age 9, and Mary age 3; and one of Fanny's sons from her first marriage, Homer Strickland, age 3. Age 38.^[2]

1870 - living in Grant, Caldwell Co., Missouri with Samuel, children Catherine (from Samuel's first marriage), Carrie and John. Age 48.^[3]

1880 - living in Lincoln, Daviess Co., Missouri with Samuel; listed as Fanna. Also in household -- Ida Low, age 13, adopted daughter; daughter Carrie and son-in-law Albert Payne, age 20. Age 58. Both parents born New York. ^[4]

1886 - admitted to the Allegany County Poorhouse. Age 65; widow; born in Scipio, Cayuga County, New York.^[5]

Fanny died at the Willard State Hospital, Ovid, New York, on November 4, 1891. She is buried in the hospital cemetery. ^[6]
