Andrew L. "Shad and/or Shadrack" Lewellen: "Shade" Lewallen, a Scott County Welchman, fought in the battle of New Orleans under Andrew Jackson. It was a favorite pastime for Shade to tell his nephews, Bill, John and Lewtian about "Jackson's War" and how the Tennessee boys in buckskins rallied around Old Andy at Orleans. His grave is in the oldest cemetery in Huntsville, beside the Prespterian Academy lot.
