William Dougherty written on the back of his picture. A drawing signed by him gave the middle initial of "J". His uniform insignia allowed a trace to the military Unit and from there his application for Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Benefits provided the middle name of Joseph. A comparison of the two signatures shows a match.
He is buried in the Beverly National Cemetery, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
