Biography
Although traditionally shown as married to Alice Duke, daughter and heir of Robert Duke of Brampton in Suffolk, in old pedigrees, this was long ago shown to be a mistake [citation needed]. Alice married another John Kempe several generations later.
Had the following children, according to such pedigrees as in the visitation of Norfolk; 1. Robert, son and heir, who married Mary White 2. John 3. Richard 4. Margaret, married ____Loveday of Norwich 5. Alice
Hitchin-Kemp proposes that in fact this John (or at least the John who married Alice Duke) might be...
- the son of Kempe-27 (but with a different wife, not White-5020)
- the half brother of Kemp-369.
- the father of Kemp-376.
