Biography

According to her gravesite memorial, Abigail C. Tirrel (aka Tirrell, Terrill, & Thurrill) was born in 1796 in what was then called "Bakerstown" or "Poland," and later (1802) became the town of Minot, Cumberland (Androscoggin in 1854) County, Maine (part of Massachusetts until 1820), USA. ^[1] Her father was one of two brothers: Davis "Thurrill" or Asaph "Thurrill," who lived next to each other according to the 1790 Census of "Bakerstown, Maine" and her mother is not known.^[2]

Abigail married Ethelbert Bradford on May 2, 1817 in Turner, Oxford (Androscoggin in 1854) County, Maine (Massachusetts to 1820), USA.^[3] The couple lived in Turner, Oxford County, Maine, and had 6 children: ^[4]

Unfortunately, Abigail (TIrrell) Bradford, died in Turner, Maine, USA, on June 8, 1829 at just 33 years old. She is buried at the Upper Street Cemetery, Turner, Androscoggin County, Maine, USA. ^[5] Her husband remarried on February 14, 1830 to Rebecca Rose from nearby Greene, Maine, and they had a daughter: Cynthia Bradford, b: May 2, 1831, in Turner, Maine.^[6] Rebecca (Rose) Bradford then died April 7, 1833, at 36 years old.

Ethelbert Bradford married a 3rd time on May 17, 1835 to Rebecca's sister, Pamelia House Rose. They had 5 children together. After fathering 12 children with 3 wives, Ethelbert Bradford died in Turner, Oxford, Maine on September 27, 1843. He was buried next to his first two wives, in the Upper Street Cemetery, Turner, Androscoggin Cemetery, Maine, USA. Pamelia (Rose) Bradford survived his passing. She died on November 4, 1879, and was laid to rest beside her sister, their husband and his first wife, Abigail, in the Upper Street Cemetery. ^[7]
