Philipsburg- Mrs. Mabel Hewitt, 71, a resident of Philipsburg, died at 8 p.m., Thursday at Morrisdale.
She was born at Madera, May 31, 1889, a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Hoover Mains.
 
She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ of Philipsburg. Her husband, William E. Hewitt preceded her in death, Jan. 16, 1952. Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Elden, Morrisdale; John, Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Raymond (Thelma) Schnarrs of Philipsburg. Ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
 
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Flegal-Weaver Funeral Home at Morrisdale with the Rev. Orin Remsnyder officiating. Interment will follow in the Emigh Cemetery at Morrisdale.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until time of services on Monday.
