Biography
Charles was born about 1857, in Maine. He was the son of Daniel Grouse (abt.1820-1917) and Emeline (Goudy) Grouse (1821-1876). The family relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, soon after his birth. Daniel is a master blacksmith.[1]

On 10 August 1883, Charles married Katy Murphy, daughter of Nicholas & Rosanna Murphy, in Lynn, Massachusetts.[3]
Charles died at age 33 of phthisis on 24 March 1891, in Boston, Massachusetts.[4] This record states he was single, yet his widow Katherine Grouse died in New York on 30 December 1895.[5]
