Biography

Eliphalet Lockwood, son of Ephraim, was born 27 Feb. 1675/6 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut.^[1][2]

He married Mary Gold, daughter of John Gold of Stamford, on 11 Oct. 1699.^[2]

Eliphalet died 14 Oct. 1753 at Norwalk, Farifield County, Connecticut and was buried there^[2] at Town House Hill Cemetery, Norwalk, Connecticut. His memorial has photos of his headstone with the inscription:"Here lies the body of Mr. Eliphalet Lockwood who departed this life in the 78th year of his age, October ye 14th 1753" and links to those of family members.^[3]

Alternative birth/death: Feb. 27, 1675 and Oct. 14, 1763.^[4]

In his will dated 1753 mentions his children, Eliphalet, Peter, Damaris, Mary, and Abigail. His wife, Mary, is to be his sole Executrix.^[2] His inventory was taken on 11 December 1753. He continues the enslavement of his black man Mingo by bequeathing him to his wife.^[5]
