Violet may have been born about 1651, perhaps in York, York, Massachusetts (later Maine) where she reside with her husband. She passed away after 1725 when she was living, a widow.^[1]

No source has been found for her last name at birth, nor is there any record of her birth, including location. The Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire, cited in the biography above, does not list anyone with the surname in any record in Maine or New Hampshire during the time period known to exist at the time of publication (1928-1939). While many trees use the Hampton surname for her, no source is ever identified except the self-referencing someone else's unsourced tree. In the absence of any source, the LNAB should probably be changed to Unknown.

The estimated birth date may be from the birth ages of her known children.
