Biography

Edward was born on November 28, 1706 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Edward Cox and Mary Swacy.^[1][2]

Edward married Mary Laskin on January 16, 1734 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^[3]

Research Notes

Edward Cox's profile (L619-5Z6) on Family Search has some issues with it that should be investigated. The birthdate and parents are the same as Cox-8602, however, the birth location has been changed to Pembroke (contrary to the attached record that created the profile) and the only spouse listed is Rebecca Hanks. The profile has the FindAGrave memorial^[5] for the Edward married to Rebecca Hanks attached based on the dates of the children listed for this Edward and Rebecca this is a completely different Edward Cox.

The Benjamin attached as son may be the son of Edward and Rebecca Hanks Cox. Their son Benjamin was reportedly baptized at the Hanson Congregational Church by Rev. Gad Hitchcock, 10 May 1752.^[5]
