Mary (Swasey) Maxell (1659-) (Joseph's daughter) is not the Mary who married Edward Cox -- she was a sister of Samuel Swazy.
It was Samuel's widow, who was known as Mary Swasey, who married Edward Cox. Perley's History of Salem, shows Mary's last name as Sawyer, but shows all the children from Edward Cox's profile. (There must have been some confusion between the names Swasey and Sawyer.)
Torrey shows the wife / widow of Samuel Swasey being the one who married 2nd Edward Cox. Benjamin Swasey's Genealogy of the Swasey Family also shows Samuel with the 1664 birth date, as the son of Joseph, and as the one who married Mary ______, and says Mary was living in 1714; Torrey says she died in 1737.[1]. The Cox Genealogy (1899) shows Edward married widow Mary Swazey, who died in Nov 1737, at the age of 63. ~est birth year at 1674.[2]

Research Notes
This birth info refers to a different Mary Swase: born April 21, 1659, in Salem, Essex county, Massachusetts. She is likely the same Mary Swasey, daughter of Joseph Swazey (abt.1610-1713) and his wife Mary, who married Thomas Maxell, but with a little different birth date which may be due to a difference in the calendars used. The other birth date shown in records for her is 21 February 1659.[15][16]
Regarding the birth year of Edward Cox, son of Mary Swasey Cox and Edward Cox (Sr), who died as an infant, his year of birth is expressed as 1704/05 due to the Old Style Calendar: Before 1752 the year began on Lady Day, March 25th,. Dates between January 1st and March 24th were at the end of the year. Old Style (O.S.) and New Style (N.S.) are used to indicate whether the year has been adjusted. Often both dates are used.

It depends on how she originally came into WikiTree. As it turns out, in 2014, she came in as Unknown, with spouse Edward Cox. In 2018, Joseph Swazy was added as her father. If she had come in as Swazy, connected to Joseph, she would have needed to remain that. Since you have created Mary Swazy, daughter of Joseph, this profile should be restored to Unknown.
