Biography

Lynn H. Smith was born in 16 April 1899^[1][2] at Guilford, Chenango County, New York, USA.^[3] He appeared on the census of 9 June 1900 in the household of his parents, Starr K. Smith and Evelyn C. (Hazen) Smith at Guilford, Chenango County, New York.^[2] He appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 in the household of his parents at Guilford, Chenango County, New York.^[4] He was a carrier for rural delivery when he appeared on the census of 15 Jan. 1920 in the household of his parents at Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York.^[5]

He married Ethel E. Carkhuff, daughter of Charles Fremont Carkhuff and Laura V. (Coy) Carkhuff, on 21 June 1920 at Norwich, Chenango County, New York. ^[3]

He was a rural letter carrier for the government when he and Ethel appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 at Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York.^[6] He was a mail carrier for the government when he and Ethel appeared on the census of 24 April 1940 at Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York.^[7]

Lynn died on 17 April 1968^[1] at Sidney, Delaware County, New York and was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York.^[8] There is a memorial for a Lynn but as it has only a name it may not be his.^[9]
