Biography
Charles was born about 1832 in Stockholm, Sweden. The major notice of him is in relation to his marriage to Ellen Ainsworth (nee Lavarty) as mentioned in the Marriage notice in the local paper of the day. Charles Brown (a native of Stockholm, Sweden) on 7th August 1865.[1] This Ellen Ainsworth is stated to be a "native of Armagh".
The article suggests that Charles Brown was a shipwright and mariner on the Richmond River. The marriage seems to have occurred at the Scots Church, Sydney.
He died on the 10 Jan 1891, where he is recorded as being 59 years old, and is remembered at the Ballina Pioneer Cemetery.
It seems that Ellen survived him but nothing is then known of her.
