"Tia Robinson, my grand pap, when he was young man he went to the war. When he went to the army he signed up in the army they put his name down Robinson but before that he spelled his name Robertson and he just let it go. I don't know what war it was. When he got out of the army he met Nancy Elizabeth Bell and married her in Kentucky so he bought a lot of land. It was under water, a lot of it was swampland, and he just moved off and left it and moved to Trigg County, Kentucky. My Dad was borned about the time they moved. His name was Collier Henderson Robinson. They lived in Trigg County, Kentucky until my Dad was 8 years old.
Grandpap was a Collier and the man that owned all of that land got in touch with him some how and got him to come down to Tennessee and oversee the job and he paid him $900 a year and they paid my Dad $1.00 a day to be night watchman.
When they moved from Kentucky to Tennessee they drove a pair of mules and it took 8 days to make the trip. He settled down at the head of
Standing Rock Creek and built a house out of logs. He worked and lived in that house as long as he lived.
