Had 13 children two died, one married, rest priests and nuns. He died in 1925 as a result of his trap horse shying at something on the road, and he was thrown off hitting his head.
Lord Derby went to model school in Limerick and asked the Principal to recommend a teacher. Patrick was recommended and appointed to Monard boys national school school in 1886 till 1912.
