Biography

Family of large landholders long been in the district of Ballinkeele (near Crossabeg), Co. Wexford, Ireland.

Served as an officer in the French Army.

John, was a prominent Rebel leader in the 1798 Rebellion, who was executed near the end of the Rebellion on Wexford bridge, 26 June 1798. John Hay was buried in Kilmallock graveyard, Co. Wexford.
