Lydia was born 17 Sep 1986 in Rodney, Elgin, Ontario, Canada to Henry D. Bake and Elizabeth Jane Edgecomb.

She married George James Balch in 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Her son Rodney Carlisle Balch was born 23 Apr 1925 in Boston.

Her whereabouts after his birth are unknown until 1930 where she appears in the 1930 U.S. census in Detroit, Michigan. She is shown as being 33 years old, divorced, and working as an operator in a hotel.

Her mother Elizabeth's obituary in 1946 indicates "Lidia" is still living in Detroit then. Lydia has not yet been located in the 1920 or 1940 U.S. census.

Per the U.S. Social Security Death Index, she passed away in Apr, 1980 as reported by the U.S. Consulate in Canada.
