Biography
Although many children of Robert and Sarah were baptised in Woodton, Anne was baptised at St Mary in the Marsh, Norwich on 3 June 1680.[1] There is a matching gap in the baptism records from Woodton.
She married Thomas Berney of Swardeston at All Saints, Woodton on 29 May 1700.[2]
Thomas and Anne had eight children who were baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Swardeston.[3]
At the church in Swardeston is a memorial with the inscription[4]:
- Sacred to the memory of Thomas Berney late of this parish Esqr who departed this life 25th Octbr 1720 aged 46 years And Ann Burney his wife who died 12th April 1743 Aged 63 years
