Matthew Empson Welsh was an American politician who was the 41st governor of Indiana and a member of the Democratic Party, serving from 1961 to 1965.
Matthew Empson Welsh was born on September 15, 1912 in Detroit, Michigan, United States, son of Matthew William Welsh (1886–1956) and Inez Claudia Empson (1887–1982).
Matthew died on May 28, 1995 in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, aged 82. He is commemorated at Memorial Park Cemetery, Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana.[1]
