Benjamin Reed Sr is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A094202.

Benjamin, son of William Reed Jr.& Sarah Warren Reed, was born on 29 January 1746 in Middleborough, Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1] [2]

Place: Middleboro, Massachusetts

Benjamin married Abiah Macomber on 23 October 1768 in Middleborough, Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[3][2]

From John Ludovicus Reed's book:

Benjamin Reed, son of William and Sarah (Warren) Reed
b: Jan 29, 1746 at Middleborough
m: Oct 23, 1763, Mrs. Abiah Macomber of Middleborough, Mass.
"Removed to Shutesbury, Mass, where they died, and were buried. Their children settled in Connecticut river valley, at Deerfield, and other localities, a little south of Deerfield, and one son and daughter married in Cunningham, near Hamilton, and Cazenovia, in eastern New York.
Served as corporal in Capt. Nathaniel Wood's company, Col Simeon Corey's regiment. On duty at Roxbury April 1, 1776; also served in 1776 and 1778 in Col. Sproat's regiment."[4]

He and Abiah had 9 children.

NOTE: There is another Benjamin and Abiah Reed in this time frame who lived in Plainfield, NH and Morristown, VT.

In 1779, Benjamin signed a receipt for his share of his father's estate.[5]

Benjamin was buried at West Cemetery, Shutesbury, Franklin County, Massachusetts, United States. His gravestone has a death date of 28 September 1807.[6]
